Threats Faced by the Dynamic MSP Landscape

Our client, a leading Managed Service Provider (MSP) in the Middle East, faced challenges in meeting stringent security and compliance requirements. With privileged activities managed by internal technical teams and a third-party support service in India, robust monitoring and control became crucial.

1

Complex Terminal Server Access

Users had to navigate through multiple layers of terminal servers to reach data center devices. This was particularly cumbersome during client support scenarios, where staff needed to access their terminal server, and then connect to the client's terminal server, before finally reaching target devices.

2

Distributed Network Architecture

Their environment suffered from excessive complexity due to shared and distributed network segments across client devices. Managing 800 devices spread over four different geographic locations presented significant coordination challenges for maintaining consistent security protocols.

3

Data Integration Uncertainty

The organization faced significant concerns about integrating client devices into their PAM setup. They struggled with data accumulation challenges while supporting various client devices, unsure of how to properly integrate them into the current PAM infrastructure.

4

Third-Party Support Connectivity

A team of approximately 40 employees based in India faced persistent connectivity issues while providing client support over VPN. Despite implementing a dedicated IPSEC Tunnel, network latency remained a significant problem that impacted service delivery.

5

Access Control Management

The organization struggled to maintain proper control over access to multiple devices, with more than 400 privileged users requiring management. This challenge was compounded by users frequently changing device types and teams accessing from multiple locations.

SOLUTIONS

ARCON PAM: Streamlining Privileged Access with Enhanced Security

We provided streamlined access through the PAM solution that replaced 40 Terminal Servers with direct system access, featuring essential security controls like Single Sign-On and Password Vault. The solution included comprehensive monitoring through session recording and audit trails, while a streaming server addressed connectivity issues with the India office.

Password Vault

It allowed the IT security team of our client to frequently randomize and change privileged passwords.

Single-Sign-On (SSO)

It helped our client to reduce efforts in managing account credentials & ability to administer systems using individual identity.

PEDM (Privileged Elevation and Delegation Management)

It enabled our client to elevate and delegate privileged tasks to non-admin users who require temporary access to target systems.

MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication)

It offered a robust validation mechanism of the privileged users of our client.

SMART Audit Trails

It helped our client to generate comprehensive audit trails from logged data and make reports of privileged sessions.

Account Discovery

It helped our client to find out shared accounts and service accounts across the entire IT infrastructure.
